Hyde has appointed two customers as board members, as part of its commitment to being a “customer-driven organisation”.

Ying Wu will sit on the group housing services committee and Tim Sanders will sit on the group investment committee, alongside their positions on the board.
This means Hyde now has three customer board members after Debbie Ellison joined in 2024.
Ms Wu is a director at consultancy Fingleton, where she advises senior executives and boards on competition and regulatory strategy.
She is a qualified solicitor, and has experience in helping businesses navigate mergers, investments, regulatory investigations and evolving regulatory and policy landscapes.
Mr Sanders is senior surveyor at Modus Construction Consultants. He has been a commercial and project manager for residential developments, grade-listed properties and historic conservation projections, including Canterbury Cathedral and Kew Gardens.
He also worked in the US banking and technology sector for clients such as Google and Barclays.
Ms Wu said: “Having personally gone through the fire safety and cladding journey, I was impressed by how Hyde listened to feedback, learned from experience and consistently sought to do the right thing for its customers in a very difficult and emotive situation.
“I hope to bring my personal experience as a Hyde customer and my experience advising businesses through growth, as well as regulatory and policy change.
“As Hyde continues to grow and face an evolving operating environment, we have the opportunity to deliver even better outcomes for customers.”
Mr Sanders said he believes good housing is “foundational to public opportunity, well-being and thriving communities”.
“’There are opportunities to innovate and adapt to changing needs and the public landscape, and to strengthen customers’ voices at every level of Hyde. I hope to challenge, offer strategic insight and provide a strong focus to help shape decisions that deliver long-term social impact for customers,” he added.
Mike Kirk, chair of the group board at Hyde, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ying and Tim to the board, and to the group housing services committee and group investment committee respectively.
“Along with Debbie, they’ll help ensure the group board and its committees make informed decisions to co-create services based on feedback and active engagement with customers, to ensure their homes are safe, decent and affordable, and are based in communities people are proud of.”
